Horseradish

Horseradish

As with the use of lactic acid bacteria, the Produktionsgemeinschaft Egger (PGE) also played a pioneering role in the use of horseradish in animal nutrition.

Horseradish has been known since ancient times and has long been used in popular medicine to treat infectious diseases, flu symptoms and to stimulate digestion.
It contains a variety of substances such as horseradish peroxidase. Horseradish peroxidase is similar to lactoperoxidase, which is part of the nonspecific immune system of humans and animals and, together with other substances, has an antibacterial, antiviral and fungicidal effect.
